The renovation of this apartment, while taking into account the original layout of the rooms, completely overturns the experience of the home and its inner perception.
The original divisions between the kitchen and living area have been eliminated to create a big environment responding to more contemporary uses, and also the bedrooms have undergone modifications to suit the needs of new tenants.
However, the most prominent element of the project is a long wooden volume that crosses the apartment in its entirety, connecting the two main entrances and becoming the focal point and space fulcrum.
This volume has a division role and at the same time a connection one, containing various functions, such as storages, wardrobes, laundry, a study and a reading area.
The central space, originally empty, thus becomes a functionally and materially unique element, an architectural gesture that gives functionality and recognizability to the home environment.
